Greece Ministry of Education sets special university quotas for disaster-hit areas
The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has established a special admission quota for higher education for the 2026-2027 academic year. This measure specifically targets final-year students and graduates of General and Vocational Lyceums from regions that have been impacted by natural disasters.
To qualify, candidates must have participated in the June 2026 Panhellenic Examinations. The decision, issued by Minister Sofia Zacharaki, covers various municipalities and regional units across several Greek regions, including Attica, North Aegean, Western Greece, Epirus, Central Macedonia, South Aegean, Peloponnese, Central Greece (Evia), and Crete.
Eligible areas include specific municipalities in Attica such as Marathonos, Saronikos, and Mandra-Eidyllia, as well as Chios in the North Aegean, and parts of Patras and Elis in Western Greece. Students must submit the required documentation to benefit from this special admission regulation.
