Greece Ministry of Education issues four-year teacher placements

The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has issued several decisions regarding the placement of educators in Model and Experimental Schools. These decisions, signed by Minister Sofia Zacharaki, establish four-year tenures for various teaching staff.

Specifically, the ministry is converting one-year tenures into four-year terms for 66 educators across primary and secondary education. These placements, which occur at no cost to the state, will span from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2030. The affected educators include teachers and kindergarten instructors across multiple regional directorates, including Attica, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the Aegean islands, Western Greece, Epirus, Thessaly, the Ionian Islands, Central Macedonia, and Crete.

Additional decisions include the placement of secondary education teachers in Public Onassis Schools for the same four-year period and the termination of certain four-year tenures in Model and Experimental schools.
