The Greek Ministry of Education has set Friday 31 July 2026 as the final date for online applications for the 2025‑2026 Student Housing Allowance. Applications must be submitted through the dedicated portal stegastiko.minedu.gov.gr using the username and password issued by the AADE for TAXISnet services. Eligible recipients are undergraduate students who are Greek or EU citizens, have a valid academic ID, a tax‑identification number, reside in a municipality different from their family home, hold a tenancy contract of at least six months and have household income not exceeding €40,000 (plus €3,000 per additional child). The allowance ranges from €1,500 to €2,500 depending on the place of study and co‑habitation status.

Funding for the scheme has been increased by 115 % compared with 2019, reaching €90 million for the 2026 academic year. The programme also includes a construction plan for about 8,600 new student‑housing beds, a €735.7 million investment to expand university accommodation nationwide. Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Sofia Zacharaki emphasized that the increase is “a concrete help so every student can study with greater security and fewer obstacles.” After the deadline the portal will close and no late applications will be accepted.
