Greece pays €150 child bonus to nearly 1 million families

On 30 June 2026 the Greek Ministry of Finance and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) completed the first and largest disbursement of a one‑off €150 payment per dependent child. 947 609 families, covering 1 525 188 children, received a total of €219.7 million automatically credited to the IBANs they have on file; no application was required.

Eligibility is limited to Greek tax‑resident parents whose total family income does not exceed €40 000 for married or co‑habiting couples (with a €5 000 increase for each additional child) or €39 000 for single‑parent households (also rising €5 000 per extra child). A second payment round, running until 31 August 2026, will cover children born between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026, provided a tax‑identification number is issued by 10 August 2026. During the process AADE identified about 33 351 cases with missing or incorrect IBAN/AFM data and will contact those beneficiaries to correct the information.
