Greece, Portugal and Italy halt EU biometric border checks for UK tourists

Greece became the first EU member to suspend the Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric checks for UK travelers, citing concerns over airport congestion. Following that decision, Portugal and Italy announced they will also abandon the new EU border checks for UK tourists in order to avoid severe delays and safeguard their tourism sectors ahead of the summer holiday peak.

The coordinated move aims to keep travel flows smooth for visitors from the United Kingdom to these Mediterranean destinations during the busy season.
