Greece reports multiple maritime incidents involving foreign tourists
Several maritime incidents involving foreign nationals have been reported in Greece. In Pieria, a 69-year-old Serbian tourist died after being found unconscious in the sea at Olympiaki Akti. Despite receiving first aid from a lifeguard and being transported to the General Hospital of Katerini, he was pronounced dead.
In Halkidiki, two separate incidents occurred. A 36-year-old Serbian woman was injured after falling from a jet ski in the Glárokaivos area of Kassandra. She lost consciousness and was transported to Thessaloniki for medical examination. The 53-year-old manager of the rental business was arrested for allegedly renting the vessel to the woman despite her lacking the required license.
Additionally, an 88-year-old Swedish national was pulled from the sea unconscious in the Nea Kallikrateia area of Halkidiki. He was taken to the Nea Mudanya Health Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have ordered an autopsy for the Swedish national.
