Greece utility maintenance causes power and water outages

Various regions in Greece are facing scheduled utility interruptions due to maintenance, repairs, and network upgrades.

In Attica, EYDAP has announced emergency water supply interruptions to repair and upgrade the distribution network. Simultaneously, the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE) has scheduled power outages across several areas, including the Municipality of Athens, Southern Suburbs (Kallithea), Northern Suburbs (Neo Irakleio, Marousi), Western Suburbs (Kamatero, Petroupoli, Haidari), and East Attica (Acharnes).

In Crete, DEDDIE is conducting network maintenance and reinforcement, resulting in planned power outages in the prefectures of Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, and Lasithi. Additionally, Thessaloniki is experiencing scheduled electricity interruptions in the Pavlou Mela municipality, specifically affecting areas in Stavroupoli and Polichni.

Authorities advise citizens to prepare by storing water, disconnecting electrical appliances to prevent damage during restoration, and avoiding the use of elevators during scheduled power cuts.
