Greece schedules widespread power outages on July 19‑20, 2026

The Public Power Corporation (DEDDIE) announced scheduled electricity interruptions across several Greek regions on July 19 and 20, 2026. In Crete, only the Heraklion regional unit will lose power on July 19 between 08:00‑14:00 for network maintenance. In Attica, seven municipalities will experience cuts on July 20, with outages from 07:30‑12:30 on major streets in Athens and surrounding suburbs. Thessaloniki will see multiple ten‑hour outages on July 19, affecting the Panorama district (07:00‑17:00) and the Øraiokastro area with staggered cuts between 08:00‑14:30. Additional temporary suspensions are planned for the island of Tinos (July 20, 07:00‑08:00) and for the town of Chania later in the week for tree‑trimming work near power lines. All interruptions are described as part of routine maintenance, reinforcement and network upgrades, with DEDDIE urging residents to stay clear of live cables and expect restored supply as soon as work is completed.
