Greece schedules second €150 child allowance payment for August

The Greek tax authority (AADE) will carry out a second round of the emergency child allowance, paying €150 per dependent child to eligible families by 31 August. The payment targets families with children born between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026, provided the child has been assigned a tax identification number (AFM) and the parents have a valid bank account (IBAN) on record. The amount is automatically calculated from tax returns, with no new application required; families receive €150 for each child, e.g., €300 for two children.

The first payment round in June left 33,351 taxpayers unpaid because their IBAN details were missing or incorrect. Those beneficiaries will be notified and must correct their banking information to receive the August payment. The second round also includes families with births after 1 January 2025 that meet the income thresholds (approximately €39‑60 k depending on marital status).
