Greece school calendar and holiday schedules for 2026-2027

The Greek school calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year includes specific timelines for student evaluations and regional holiday adjustments.

In primary education, the year is divided into three terms: the first runs from September 11 to December 10, 2026; the second from December 11, 2026, to March 10, 2027; and the third from March 11 to June 15, 2027. In secondary education (middle and high schools), the year is split into two four-month periods, with the first term concluding on January 20, 2027.

In Thessaloniki, a unique schedule will occur in late October due to the overlap of local and national holidays. While October 28 is a national holiday, the celebration of Saint Demetrios on October 26 will result in school closures in the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Additionally, October 23 will feature mandatory school events, and October 27 will include the student parade.
