Greece school year 2026-2027 opening dates and holiday schedule

The 2026-2027 school year in Greece is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 11, with the traditional religious blessing (agiasmos) taking place at schools nationwide. While students return on the 11th, the official educational process and full lesson schedules are expected to commence on Monday, September 14. Teachers are set to return to their units earlier, on September 1, to handle administrative tasks, classroom organization, and curriculum planning.
