Greece Sets Final June 30, 2026 Deadline for Mandatory Elevator Registration

The Greek Ministry of Development has confirmed that the deadline for the nationwide elevator registration is fixed for 30 June 2026, with no further extensions. Owners, managers or legal representatives must submit data electronically via the elevator.mindev.gov.gr platform using Taxisnet credentials.

Failure to register by the deadline will trigger administrative fines per elevator: €1,000 for residential buildings, €500 for commercial or mixed‑use premises, and up to €5,000 for buildings with public access. From 1 July, elevators without a registration number cannot be legally serviced, and the Independent Market Inspection Authority will conduct intensive compliance checks. The registry will create a comprehensive database of all elevators in Greece, enabling the ministry to improve oversight and safety policies.
