Greece sets October 2 deadline for university student transfers

The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has announced that the deadline for students to submit electronic applications for university transfers or relocations is Friday, October 2, 2025, at 14:00 (or 16:00 according to some reports).

The application process, which opened on September 24, is available to specific categories of students at Higher Education Institutions (AEI) and Higher Educational Institutions (AEA). Eligible groups include students requesting transfers for specific reasons, siblings of undergraduate students, and those admitted for the 2025-2026 academic year under special categories, such as the 5% quota for health conditions or members of the Muslim Minority of Thrace.

Other eligible applicants include children of terrorism victims and children of Armed Forces or Security Forces personnel who were fatally injured in the line of duty. Applications must be submitted through the official platform at transfer.it.minedu.gov.gr using credentials provided by the student's respective department. A Tax Identification Number (AFM) is required for those needing family status certificates.

Students of Cypriot origin and those admitted via September 2026 remedial exams will have different application deadlines, which the Ministry will announce following the completion of current registrations.
