Greece summer sales begin July 13, 2026, with consumer price rules
The summer sales in Greece are scheduled to start on Monday 13 July 2026 and run until 31 August. Retailers may choose to open on the first Sunday of the sales period, 19 July, from 11:00 to 18:00.
Under current consumer‑protection legislation, shops must display both the original price and the reduced price clearly, using the lowest price recorded in the preceding 30 days (or the lowest price in the last 10 days for newly released items) as the reference. While showing a discount percentage (e.g., "‑30%") is optional, it must be clearly identified as a discount. If more than 60 % of a store’s items are discounted, the percentage must appear in the window display. Special rules apply to stock and outlet stores, which must show the new sale price and remove the old price. Consumers retain the right to request full product information, keep receipts, and receive replacements for defective goods unless the defect was disclosed beforehand.
