Greece taxi fares to increase for airport routes
Taxi fares for routes connecting Greece’s major airports with urban centers are set to increase following discussions between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and industry representatives. The new pricing structure will take effect once published in the Government Gazette (FEK).
In Athens, the fixed fare from Eleftherios Venizelos Airport to the city center will rise from €40 to €50 for single trips, and from €55 to €65 for night services (00:00 to 05:00). In Thessaloniki, the fixed fare to the airport will increase from €25 to €28 for single trips and from €35 to €38 for night services.
Additionally, the hourly waiting charge will increase from €15 to €20, and the maximum waiting fee agreed upon between drivers and passengers will rise from €25 to €40. The Attica Taxi Drivers' Union (SATA) stated that these adjustments are necessary for economic sustainability due to rising operational costs, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and taxes. The basic taxi tariffs and the €4 minimum charge remain unchanged.
