Greek ministry announces 2026 university admission scores

On Thursday 23 July 2026, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the Greek Ministry of Education announced the admission bases (score thresholds) for all higher‑education institutions for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Candidates can view their results through the official portal results.it.minedu.gov.gr by entering their eight‑digit exam code and the four initials of their surname, name, father's and mother's names, or receive the outcome by SMS if they registered for the service. Results will also be posted on school notice boards, with personal data limited to the candidate code and admitted department. The ministry, led by Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki, said the announcement is a few days earlier than usual to give successful students and families more time to arrange relocation and housing. The same day the government will publish the government gazette (ΦΕΚ) licensing several non‑state, non‑profit universities for the upcoming fall term. About 89,032 candidates competed for roughly 68,788 university places. Score trends show notable increases for medical and polytechnic programmes, while some programmes saw modest declines. The minister also outlined a plan to add more than 10,000 new student‑dormitory beds through public‑private partnerships, with projects already underway in Crete, Thessaly and Western Macedonia.
