Greece delays mandatory Farmers' Register registration until 2027

The Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food (YPAAT), in collaboration with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), is proposing a legislative change to delay mandatory registration in the Register of Farmers and Agricultural Holdings (MAAE).

Under the proposed regulation, registration in the MAAE will no longer be a prerequisite for submitting the 2026 Single Application for Support (EAE/OSDE). Instead, this requirement is slated to take effect starting in 2027. This decision aims to prevent additional administrative burdens on producers during the current submission period, which has already commenced.

The delay is intended to allow sufficient time for producers and authorities to adapt to the new provisions of Law 5336/2026. Additionally, the Ministry and AADE are working to complete the digital interconnection of their information systems to ensure the automatic exchange of data between services, thereby reducing the need for manual data entry by farmers.
