Greece to mobilize over 45 billion euros via EU Recovery Fund

Greece is utilizing 35.95 billion euros from the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility to drive economic growth and reforms. This total includes 18.22 billion euros in non-repayable grants and 17.73 billion euros in loans.

According to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, the disbursement of these funds is tied to the achievement of specific milestones and reform targets rather than simple expenditure. The loan component is provided under the same favorable terms as other EU member states, without additional or punitive interest rates for Greece.

Notably, Greece is the only EU country directing its entire 17.73 billion euro loan portion exclusively to the private sector. This strategy aims to bridge the investment gap left by a decade of economic crisis. The full utilization of these funds is expected to mobilize total investments exceeding 45 billion euros, supporting sustainable long-term development.
