The Greek government will issue an emergency child allowance of €150 for each dependent child. Payments are scheduled to be credited directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts by 30 June 2026, with the total amount depending on the number of children – €300, €450 or more for larger families.

Eligibility is based on the 2024 tax return. Income limits are €40,000 for married couples or cohabiting partners (plus €5,000 for each additional child) and €39,000 for single‑parent households (plus €5,000 per extra child). No application is required; the transfer will be automatic through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE). For families that add a new child to the AADE registry by 31 July 2026, the allowance (or any additional amount) will be paid by 31 August 2026. When parents file separate tax returns, the allowance for shared children is split equally between them; for non‑shared children it goes to the parent who registers the child.
