Greece to provide livestock feed subsidies in October
Greek Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Thanasis Kavvadas, announced that additional financial aid for livestock farmers will begin in early October. This support is intended to cover the increased costs of animal feed and compensation for damaged milk production.
The timeline for these payments depends on the issuance of a Joint Ministerial Decision (KYA), which is expected by the end of September. The measure aims to assist producers facing liquidity issues due to livestock losses and rising operational expenses.
In Western Macedonia, previous compensations for mandatory animal culling included 237,077 euros for 1,071 animals. The government stated it is monitoring the sector to utilize both national and European funding tools to ensure the stability of the livestock industry.
