Greece to release remaining 2025 direct agricultural subsidies by Thursday
The Greek Ministry and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) are scheduled to process payments for the remaining 2025 direct agricultural subsidies by this Thursday. This payment includes ecological and organic farming schemes. Authorities are currently conducting intensive audits and cross-checks to resolve pending cases, aiming to distribute approximately 85 million euros owed to producers from the previous year.
There are indications that a portion of the 2026 subsidies may be paid as an advance by the end of the month. Meanwhile, outstanding balances from 2024, totaling roughly 42 million euros according to AADE, are expected to be transferred in December.
The upcoming payment will incorporate corrections made by the agricultural sector during the period between August 7 and September 7. However, producers and analysts have noted significant technical limitations during the correction window. While minor data changes were permitted, major issues regarding ownership records, polygon area adjustments, and the removal of specific subsidies or ecological schemes could not be processed through the system.
