Greece to subsidize 90% of remote work costs in remote regions
The Greek Ministry of Labour is planning a new subsidized employment program designed to boost employment in mountainous and remote regions of the country. The initiative combines remote work with significant financial incentives, covering 90% of both salary and social security contributions for a period of 12 months.
The program aims to provide businesses with a strong economic incentive to hire new employees while allowing workers to access professional opportunities without having to relocate to major urban centers. By utilizing teleworking, the initiative seeks to decentralize employment and support regional development.
After the 12-month subsidy period concludes, businesses will have the opportunity to evaluate the collaboration and decide whether to continue the employment relationship.
