Greece launches €260 million agricultural improvement plan
The Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food is finalising a new Call for Improvement Plans worth €260 million, part of the EU Common Agricultural Policy 2026. The programme aims to modernise farms, boost competitiveness and promote sustainable resource use, helping the sector adapt to climate‑change impacts.
According to General Secretary of EU Resources and Infrastructure Argyró Zerva, the legislative framework will be sealed in the coming days with a joint decision by the minister and the head of the Agricultural Insurance Organization (AADE). The invitation will be published shortly and applications are set to open on 1 June. Applicants – individual farmers, legal entities and collective groups – will submit a single electronic request covering a wide range of investments, including upgrading facilities, modern machinery, greenhouses, land acquisition, renewable‑energy projects, waste management and irrigation upgrades.
