Greece updates Army training durations for conscripts

A new ministerial decision has been published regarding the determination of training stage durations for conscripts in the Hellenic Army.

Under the new regulations, the first stage of training for standard conscripts will last ten weeks. This period includes four weeks of initial training (including the enlistment week), one week of leave, and five weeks of combatant training.

For Candidate Reserve Officers (YEA), the first stage lasts nine weeks, consisting of two weeks at enlistment units for selection processes, six weeks of combatant training, and one week of leave. For those serving as Reserve Officer Cadets (DEA), the first stage is five weeks, comprising four weeks of initial training and one week of leave.

The second stage of training focuses on specialty training and typically lasts four weeks, with specific exceptions for YEA training in weapon schools or for DEA personnel.
