Greek education system launches updated textbooks and digital programmes for 2026‑27 school year

The Municipal Theater of Rafina will begin weekly drama and acting lessons and seminars for beginners and advanced students in October, offering free participation with limited seats at its Rafina venue and a new cultural space in Vaghoni (contact: 6944606179).

For the 2026‑2027 academic year, Greece’s Ministry of Education will keep the same textbooks used the previous year, adding only corrections, updated information, improved images and revised wording across primary, secondary and high‑school levels. The rollout of a multiple‑book system is postponed to the 2027‑2028 school year.

Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki met the newly appointed board of the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) to review preparations for the upcoming school year. The discussion highlighted the expansion of digital tutoring, the use of artificial intelligence in education, teacher training, a digital platform for textbook feedback, new digital learning material, the State Certificate of Informatics and the extension of the Digital Tutoring programme to first‑ and second‑year high‑school classes.
