Sitia festival assault leaves Cypriot teenager injured
A 17-year-old Cypriot teenager was hospitalized after being assaulted during a festival in Sitia, Crete. The incident reportedly began when the teenager danced with a girl, provoking a reaction from two Albanian minors, aged 16 and 17. Following a physical altercation, the victim was treated for injuries but was later discharged from the hospital. Police arrested both minors; one admitted to the assault, while the other claimed he only intervened to separate the parties.
In a separate incident in Kypseli, a 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after a serious electric scooter accident. The teenager suffered severe traumatic brain injuries and underwent a craniectomy at the Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital. He remains intubated and is fighting for his life. The accident occurred after the boy lost control of the scooter on Fotis Anastasi street.
