Mediterranean Games: Greek and Macedonian wrestlers secure multiple medals

Wrestlers from Greece and North Macedonia secured multiple medals during the freestyle wrestling competitions at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

Greece achieved a dominant performance with three medals. Giorgos Kougioumtzidis won gold in the 86 kg category, finishing the tournament without conceding a single point. Dauron Kurugliev secured gold in the 97 kg category, while Azamat Khosonov earned a bronze medal in the 125 kg category.

North Macedonia also saw success on the third day of the games. Fati Vejseli earned a silver medal in the 74 kg freestyle category, and Recep Hajdari took silver in the 97 kg freestyle category. Ahmad Magomedov secured a bronze medal in the 86 kg freestyle category after a 10-0 technical victory. In swimming, Macedonian athletes Jovan Jankovski, Stefan Todorov, and Sara Janković competed but did not advance to the next phase.
