Greece's EFET recalls smoked trout fillet after Listeria detection
The Greek Food Authority (EFET) found the pathogenic bacterium Listeria monocytogenes in a sample of smoked, marinated trout fillet marketed under the brand “FRÉSKOS”. The product, produced and packaged in Karpenisi by G. Panagiotopoulos‑I. Bakatsias, was manufactured on 03/02/2026 with a use‑by date of 01/09/2026. EFET ordered the immediate recall of the entire batch and urged consumers who have purchased the product not to consume it. Follow‑up inspections of the manufacturer are underway.
The recall concerns a single production lot and is limited to the Greek market, with no reported illnesses at this stage.
