Greece's Fire Service receives 14 new water tankers

The Hellenic Fire Service has received 14 new 12,000-liter water tanker vehicles (6x4) to bolster firefighting capabilities across mainland and island regions. These vehicles are being distributed by the Fire Service Headquarters based on operational requirements.

The procurement was conducted under the ‘Aegis’ National Civil Protection Program, with a contract value of 5,727,064 euros. Funding was provided by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tornaridis, stated that this delivery is part of a broader modernization plan for the Fire Service fleet. To date, over 1,000 new vehicles have been delivered as part of a total planned procurement of 1,711 vehicles under the Aegis program, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund, the RRF, and the European Investment Bank.
