Greek OPEKA Extends Large‑Family Benefit Application Deadline to July 22, 2026

The Organization of Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA) announced that the deadline for submitting applications for cash assistance under the LAE/OPEKA programme for mothers and single‑parent fathers with three or more children has been extended from 15 July to 22 July 2026. Applications are to be filed electronically through the OPEKA portal by 23:59 on the new deadline. The scheme provides €700 to 2,300 three‑child mothers and €1,000 to 600 larger families, with equivalent amounts for eligible single parents.

Separately, OPEKA scheduled the next bulk payment of social benefits for July 2026 on Friday 31 July, with funds expected to be available at ATMs from the afternoon of Thursday 30 July. The payout includes the third instalment of the A21 child allowance and a wide range of benefits such as minimum guaranteed income, housing allowance, birth grant, disability benefits, diaspora allowance, senior‑citizen support, funeral cost coverage, and special assistance for vulnerable debtors and victims of natural disasters.
