Greece launches OPEKA hiring drive with 4,746 public sector positions
The Greek National Public Administration and Public Employment Service (ASEP) issued tender 2ΓΒ/2026, announcing 4,746 permanent positions across the public sector. The recruitment covers both permanent contracts and indefinite-term private‑law contracts (IDAX) and forms the second stage of the nationwide written competition 1Γ/2025. Eligibility is limited to university graduates.
Among the advertised roles, the Organisation for Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity (OPEKA) will receive 18 positions in Athens and Thessaloniki, spanning administrative‑economic staff, engineering and information‑technology specialties. The broader call includes 64 different professional fields and targets a range of public bodies such as municipalities, Citizen Service Centres (KEP), the electronic National Social Insurance Institution (e‑EFKA), and several ministries. Applications must be submitted online via the ASEP portal by 14:00 on 22 June 2026.
The recruitment is intended to strengthen the capacity of OPEKA, which administers social‑welfare benefits for vulnerable groups, and to reinforce staffing levels across multiple government agencies.
