Greek AADE to audit key agricultural subsidies under CAP 2023‑2027
A monitoring team has been established within the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to verify the implementation of recommendations issued by the Fiscal Control Committee (EDEL). The follow‑up audit targets three interventions of Greece’s 2023‑2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) programme: the supplementary redistributive income support for sustainability (P1‑29), the supplementary income support for young farmers (P1‑30), and the equalisation compensation for areas with natural or special disadvantages (P3‑71).
The audit will run from 23 July to 15 September 2026 at AADE’s General Directorate of Controls and the Third Directorate for Certification of EAGF/EAFRD expenditures, both located in Athens. It will examine documents supplied by the Payments Organization, assess whether each recommendation has been fully, partially or not implemented, evaluate the adequacy of corrective measures, identify remaining risks, and may issue new findings. The review is part of broader efforts to ensure proper management of the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) as AADE assumes full responsibility for subsidy payments formerly handled by OPKEPE, with the MID registry serving as a cross‑checking tool.
