Greek addiction prevention centers launch local cooperation and training initiatives

Addiction prevention and psychosocial health organizations in Greece are expanding local outreach and educational training. In Komotini, the ‘Orfeas’ Center for Addiction Prevention and Psychosocial Health Promotion, in collaboration with EOPAE, met with the Municipality of Komotini to strengthen networking and coordinate future actions. The discussions focused on enhancing prevention interventions and raising community awareness, specifically targeting children, adolescents, families, and the educational community.

In Kifisia, the ‘Pronoi’ Addiction Prevention Center, alongside the Directorate of Quality of Secondary Education of B’ Athens and EOPAE, is organizing a free experiential training seminar for teachers titled ‘BOYS & GIRLS PLUS’. This program, approved by the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP), aims to equip educators with tools to protect adolescents aged 13–19 from peer pressure, substance abuse, unregulated internet use, and other high-risk behaviors.
