Greek Admiral claims air defense range reaches central Turkey

Retired Greek Rear Admiral Yiannis Egolfopoulos has made claims regarding the reach of new air defense systems being implemented in the region. Following an agreement between Greece and Israel for the Achilles Shield air defense system, Egolfopoulos stated during a television program that the system's range could extend as far as Afyonkarahisar in central Turkey.

Egolfopoulos detailed three operational zones for the system: a yellow zone (15 to 80 km), a green zone (80 to 180 km), and a blue zone (180 to 250 km). He noted that the David's Sling system would be utilized in the blue zone, capable of intercepting ballistic missiles at a range of up to 250 km. He also mentioned that Barak missile systems are positioned in Cyprus, covering an area of 180 km deep into the territory.
