Greek Army General Staff Calls 2026 Conscripts to Enlist in Land Forces

The Hellenic Army General Staff announced that men subject to the 2026 G/ESSO draft must report for enlistment in the Land Forces. The first registration window runs from 31 August to 4 September 2026 for eligible birth‑years 2008 (class 2029) and 2007 (class 2028) in specified regions, as well as for conscripts born between 1982 and 2007 from all counties.

A second set of dates (20‑21 August and 24‑28 August) applies to those whose enlistment was postponed for health reasons. Conscripts must bring their police ID, enlistment notice, medical booklet, tax ID, social security number, a chest X‑ray, a negative rapid COVID‑19 antigen test taken within 48 hours, and their bank IBAN. Those with chronic illnesses may be examined in military hospitals or provide a medical opinion from a public hospital.
