Athens Stock Exchange stays above 2,500 points
The Athens Stock Exchange’s General Index traded in a narrow band around the 2,500‑point level. Sessions reported modest gains of 0.5‑0.8%, with the index closing between 2,504 and 2,513 points.
Turnover hovered near 250 million € (≈ 242‑261 M €) and about 30‑35 million shares changed hands. Banking shares led the rally, while energy companies such as Motor Oil, ELPE and OTE posted notable advances. The bank‑sector index rose about 0.5‑0.8%.
Investors remained cautious amid heightened U.S.–Iran tension and oil prices staying below $80 per barrel, but the market’s breadth broadened with blue‑chip and mid‑cap participation.
