Greek business turnover rises to 247 billion euros in H1 2026
Greek businesses saw their turnover increase to 247.08 billion euros in the first half of 2026, representing a 4.6% rise compared to 236.11 billion euros during the same period in 2025, according to data from ELSTAT.
Growth accelerated in the second quarter of 2026, with turnover reaching 135.81 billion euros, a 6.4% increase from the second quarter of 2025. This figure marks the highest quarterly turnover recorded since data series began in 2019. The growth rate in the second quarter was notably higher than the 2.6% increase observed in the first quarter of 2026.
Key sectors driving this growth in the second quarter include Education, which saw a 27.0% increase, followed by Manufacturing at 16.0%, Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment at 14.2%, Construction at 12.5%, and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Activities at 10.0%. Information and Communication also grew by 9.6%, while human health and social assistance activities recorded a 9.5% increase.
