Greek "Change Water Heaters" Program Adds 6,000 Households

Greece's "Change Water Heaters 2026" scheme announced the inclusion of more than 6,000 additional households, raising the total number of approved applications to over 146,000. The expansion is backed by public funding exceeding €21.5 billion, aimed at modernising domestic heating and hot‑water systems.

Beneficiaries can replace old, energy‑intensive water heaters and heating installations with high‑efficiency technologies such as solar water heaters and heat pumps. The program sets a voucher commitment and redemption deadline of 25 June 2026, after which households must complete the upgrade to receive the subsidy.
