Greek cities host free summer open‑air cinema and cultural shows

In the historic town of Nafplio, the FOUGARO ARTCENTER is running a summer program that includes free nightly film screenings in its garden, shadow‑theatre performances by Athinaiko Theatre of Shadows and actor Athos Danellis, and a children’s puppet theatre presented by the Celesta Puppet Theater.

Athens is also offering a citywide series of free outdoor cinema events. Parks, squares, museums and municipal venues host screenings of classic, contemporary and family films, with programs such as “Park Your Cinema” at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, neighbourhood screenings organized by the Municipality of Athens, and open‑air shows in the Freedom Park and at cultural institutes and embassies.

Both locations emphasize free admission and a relaxed summer atmosphere, encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy films under the night sky alongside other cultural performances.
