Greek Coast Guard rescues four Romanian tourists in Saronic Gulf

The Greek Coast Guard conducted a rescue operation in the Saronic Gulf to save four Romanian tourists near the islet of Fleves. The group, consisting of three men and one woman, had been using a small inflatable boat without a motor, relying solely on oars to navigate the sea.

Strong maritime currents caused the vessel to drift, leaving the passengers unable to control their direction. Reports indicate the individuals had consumed alcohol prior to the incident. The Coast Guard successfully located and intercepted the boat, transporting the tourists to the Vouliagmeni Marina, where they were found to be in good health.

George Vallis, president of the Panhellenic Federation of Private and Professional Mariners, commended the timely response of the Coast Guard authorities from Saronic, Glyfada, and Vouliagmeni, stating that their professionalism prevented a much more serious outcome.
