Greek Coast Guard Seizes Cocaine, Ecstasy and Arrests Eight Foreigners at Lefkada Port

Greek coast guard authorities conducted a coordinated raid at the Perigiali marina in Lefkada, boarding a UK‑flagged catamaran. The operation, carried out with the National Security Office, the Special Missions Squadron, the Central Coast Guard’s Drug‑Trafficking Unit, the Local Coast Guard unit and the police K‑9 team, resulted in the seizure of narcotics and cash and the arrest of eight foreign nationals.

Authorities found 55.6 g of raw Indian cannabis, 10 g of crystal MDMA (ecstasy), 13 ecstasy tablets, assorted cannabis remnants, two plastic cannabis grinders, 12 blue pills of unknown composition, paper money with cocaine traces and nylon packets containing 8.1 g of cocaine. The seizure also included €7,000, 3,240 Israeli shekels, $563, eight mobile phones, two tablets and a laptop. The eight detainees were four Israeli citizens, and one each from Turkey, Italy, Spain and Latvia. All items and the vessel were confiscated, and the pre‑investigation is being handled by the Lefkada Coast Guard.
