Greek Builders Association Calls for Amendment to Article 116 for Recovery Fund Projects

The Pan‑Hellenic Association of Technical Companies (SATE) has sent a formal letter to the Ministry of National Economy and Finance asking that article 116 of the draft law on measures to address the energy crisis be revised. The current wording limits emergency compensation and deadline flexibility to “only large projects with contract value 100 million euros and above,” excluding hundreds of smaller works funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund. SATE argues that this exclusion harms micro‑ and small‑medium contractors, creates liquidity problems and was introduced without public consultation, which ran from 1 to 15 June 2026. The association requests that the article be amended to cover all projects financed by the fund, ensuring equal treatment and allowing ministries to grant emergency compensation without additional strain on the national budget. The amendment aims to support the timely completion of local infrastructure projects across Greece.
