Greek cultural festivals highlight theatre and music

Greece is hosting several cultural events in September 2026. The Anaireseis Festival will take place in Thessaloniki at Theatro Kipou from September 25 to 27. Organized by the Anaireseis Thessaloniki Club, the three-day program features a mix of political discussions in the afternoons and artistic performances at night, including music, theater, and various artists such as Nightstalker and Social Waste.

In another cultural highlight, the Ithaka Theatre Festival has returned to the island for its fifth consecutive year. During the festival's opening, actress, writer, and director Anna Vagena was honored for her long-standing contributions to Greek culture. Vagena expressed her pride in receiving the award from such a significant theatrical institution.

The Ithaka festival, under the artistic direction of Kostas Gakis and Athina Arseni, focuses on contemporary Greek creation and diverse artistic voices.
