Greek cultural institutions announce new theater seasons
Cultural institutions in Greece have announced their upcoming programming for the new season. The Stegi of the Onassis Foundation has unveiled a season centered on intense human emotions, moving away from digital cynicism. Highlights include the production ‘ORACLE’ by Polish director Łukasz Twarkowski, scheduled for October 2026, which explores the life of Alan Turing and the origins of artificial intelligence through a blend of theater, cinema, and music.
Meanwhile, the Piraeus Municipal Theatre is presenting a September program under the theme ‘Hoping’. Artistic Director Nikos Diamantis noted that the theater is navigating a rapidly changing world with new administrative and economic responsibilities. The upcoming season will feature seven productions across three stages, including ‘Jenny Jenny – A Sunny Requiem’ directed by Nikos Karathanos. The theater also continues its collaboration with the Ministries of Culture and Justice to provide artistic and educational programs for juvenile offenders.
