Greek Deputy Health Minister tours remote Thrace and Xanthi regions

Greek Deputy Health Minister Eirini Agapidakis conducted a tour of remote and underserved areas in Thrace and Xanthi to oversee the activities of Mobile Health Teams (KOMY). The initiative focuses on providing preventive medical care, home visits, and open sampling to residents who face geographic barriers to healthcare access.

In the Myki and Toxotes regions, health teams provided free screenings, identifying several undiagnosed cases of hypertension. During the visit, Agapidakis met with Myki Mayor Ahmet Kurt to discuss the potential transfer of the Myki Regional Health Center building to the Ministry of Health for renovation.

In Xanthi, activities were concentrated in Kotyli and Komnina, where teams performed home visits and medical testing at local health centers and cultural associations. The tour concluded with Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis and Deputy Minister Agapidakis inaugurating the renovated Health Center of Nea Michaniona and the renovated Health Center of Stavroupoli.
