Greek mobile health and preventive care initiatives

Overview

Greece is implementing various mobile health initiatives and preventive medical programs to reach underserved or remote populations.

In the Thrace and Xanthi regions, Deputy Health Minister Eirini Agapidakis oversaw Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) providing preventive care, home visits, and screenings for conditions such as hypertension. Discussions were also held regarding the potential renovation and transfer of the Myki Regional Health Center to the Ministry of Health.

In Kalavryta, a Mental Health Mobile Unit from the Agios Andreas General Hospital of Patras is scheduled to provide diagnosis, treatment, and home care for adult patients with mental illnesses. Additionally, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) is conducting a program of free preventive medical examinations for adults in villages with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.
