ESEE proposes 2030 SME support plan to Greek Finance Minister

The Greek Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) has presented a fully costed action plan to the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through 2030. The proposal focuses on three strategic pillars: reducing bureaucracy, enhancing SME competitiveness and resilience, and lowering tax and insurance burdens.

Key recommendations from ESEE include the abolition of presumptive taxation for trade, the removal of the occupation tax, and reductions in tax advances and insurance contributions. The plan also suggests incentives for consistent taxpayers, the creation of functional non-seizable accounts, and debt restructuring options through 120 installments to improve liquidity and access to financing.

In a related development, Minister Pierrakakis highlighted that the government is preparing a four-year sustainable development plan to be presented at the Thessaloniki International Fair. This package is expected to include targeted tax interventions for businesses, professionals, and households, alongside a new 23 billion euro National Development Program for the 2026-2030 period.
