Greek ELAS condemns Israel over deportation of Greek unionists from West Bank
The Greek trade union confederation ELAS publicly condemned Israel after Israeli authorities barred a group of Greek unionists from entering the West Bank and expelled them from Ben Gurion airport. ELAS said the measures breach international law and the EU‑Israel Association Agreement, citing the recent interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla as another illegal act.
ELAS called on the Greek government to intervene immediately, launch diplomatic protests, and push the European Union to adopt a concrete response, including possible suspension of the EU‑Israel Association Agreement and sanctions on individuals and entities responsible for the violations.
