Greek Employment Service disburses over €71 million in June to more than 150,000 beneficiaries

The Greek Public Employment Service (ΔΥΠΑ) released detailed figures for its June payments, showing total disbursements of roughly €71 million. The largest share went to regular unemployment benefits, with €60.58 million paid to 106,980 recipients. Additional payouts included €474,737 to 668 self‑employed unemployed, €25.50 million for maternity and parental benefits to 30,677 parents, €750,554 for work allowances to 2,516 claimants, and €587,208 for long‑term unemployment benefits to 2,869 beneficiaries. Smaller categories covered €135,580 for other insurance benefits (197 people) and €10.10 million for training programmes that assisted 15,613 workers and job‑seekers.

Special employment programmes accounted for about €2.7 million, supporting groups such as 1,135 health‑sector unemployed (€586,218), 100 fire‑damaged‑area jobseekers (€94,248), 100 OPEKEPE participants (€82,628), former shipyard workers (€13,070), 4,000 long‑term health‑sector unemployed (€1.44 million), 500 trauma‑care workers (€480,513), and 2,260 individuals in public‑service roles (€223). Student and apprenticeship grants added €67,762. The Service highlighted these payments as part of its ongoing policy to reinforce social cohesion, protect families, and promote employment, emphasizing the transparency of monthly public reporting.
