Greece expands child voucher scheme, €393 million for 2026‑27
The Greek Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family has allocated €393 million for a 2026‑27 child‑voucher programme that subsidises childcare, preschool and special‑needs centres. Income thresholds have been raised: families with up to two children may apply if their annual income is up to €35,000, and families with three children up to €38,000. For large families (four or more children) the income test has been removed entirely.
Applications are submitted electronically via the aitisi26.eetaa.gr portal using Taxisnet credentials, and the deadline is 5 August. The system pulls most data automatically from public registers. Over 170,000 children benefited in the previous year, and officials expect more than 240,000 beneficiaries this cycle.
In parallel, a one‑off emergency child allowance of €150 per child is being paid to families that missed the June disbursement. The supplementary payment covers children born between 1 January 2025 and 31 July 2026 and will be credited by 31 August without a new application, provided the child’s tax and banking details are correctly recorded.
